pose from memory, mirror used for neck area.Haven't done much drawing lately. I felt like dancing today and wanted to capture my character Ginger in a fun movement pose. Think I captured it as best i could as a short 20 min drawing before bedtime. Marking it as unfinished because I think I should fix her hair a bit.. maybe later. :) I think that one of the greatest challenges of figure drawing is be able to draw poses that are realistic enough and believable too. It's something I really admire about comic book artists, who can draw characters in different situations and have their poses look natural (well, most of the good ones; a few don't really do a good job...). Anyhow, I think its neat how in a rough-looking picture I can just add a few lines and make it look like she is wearing a shirt of sorts so I don't have to ponder how to do her nipples. XD edit: ok, i hate how i wanted this to be a short sketch and ended up trying to refine things a bit too much. Ok it's finished!

I'm so original, nobody would ever of thought to draw two girls in anime style wearing overly done frilly dresses with very long hair and weird ears. I'm a gonna put effort into this'n.

Does that help with your coloring? And where do you find a vivid paint-chat? Majority of what I visited where pretty much dead.

from a photo I took of the sofa in the front room a couple of days ago. I liked the light, I have a thing for light.

mmm, idk...i think its more the detail of the rug, the shadow of the plant, some light source reflecting over the couch, the way he gave the couch such a comfy plush feeling with a few brush strokes...how if you look every line, every stroke, seems almost careless because his eye for light and form is so phenomenal, he doesnt need to second guess or overwork it. i don't think many people can appreciate how amazing this picture is.

Thank you guys. Dorsy i think that the original ref had it a bit softer but i liked experimenting with contrasts, especially it seemed just right with the overall expression of the pose and colours. Perhaps i did it too "extreme" though, dunno, maybe you are right :) i was mainly trying to get the "in focus" effect of her arm, knee and the sofa's angle, so the rest of the body looks a bit blurry, you know, like on the photograph.. hmm actually now that i look at it you are probably right i could make it smoother, but oh well.. what's done is done :) thanks for this comment though!
