YEAH. i agree with axil. i mean, go and look at some "how to draw" books (no really, do it) and they have some fairly easy ways for starters when it somes to bodies and soforth.

oh and axil,...when a mod moves this you have to see everdreams picture again, so either way ya lose :P
Axil62 (Jun 19, 2004)
Damn, you're right. Uh....Say, ya know what? Now that I look at this again, it's actually quite good. Definately one of the better pieces here I'd have to say...and uh...so...yes, yes I think this belongs here. Definately.
Ty854 (Jun 19, 2004)
Yeah, at first i thought....meh, but now that i look at it again its actualy not too bad. My only suggestion is putting the guys elf ear back.

this is the first man-ish thing i've ever done on this kind of program, actually maybe i've drawn a couple more than this, but they've never turned into anything great. he still looks like a girl, but its done. drawn and painted with a ball mouse. grrrrr. . . .
DejasView (Jun 12, 2004)
Hey Davinci, Are you talking about the Special Member's Edition, Vol. 1, 100 best pictures of National Geographic? If so, I think her eyes are actually green. I love National Geographic. Nice pic, Solarwinds. I like the medieval feel to it.
davincipoppalag (Jun 12, 2004)
Well that pic was in the special , but I still have the actual monthly one it was on (hell I got all of em since 78) You're right!~

A little bitty man on a regular dollar, or a regular man on a giant dollar. I dunno.

Very cool picture...that dollar sure looks real...but in my world, it's 'Another day, another 'dime'...(inflation ya know...)...jk (but it sure 'feels' like it).
DejasView (Jun 12, 2004)
Amazing. A lot of symbolism could be construed from this piece.
Pantera (Jun 13, 2004)
I really do not know what to say about your drawings, I think all has been said by others. I have seen most of them and love them all. Your talent is amazing, thank you for sharing with us :)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 13, 2004)
Thank ya'll so much... the ppl here that appreciate stuff are what makes it so enjoyable. :)

For years I worked for a law firm in the middle of this (one of the black glass bldgs. between the ball tower and the triangular building, and every day I was in awe at how the architects and engineers had the forethought to design the buildings where the golden glass faced the southwest and the black glass faced the dark and artificially lit sides of the city... the light play at different times of day is amazing. I always thought this would be a great subject for art, but all of the straight lines prevented me from doing it on canvas - a pain in the you know what. The wonderful tools in the applet make it possible to try something I'd otherwise never have done.

Wow, the detail in this is great. Everything of yours is perfect, though.

Little late for a comment but...
Awesome drawing! I remember this place as Beautiful and unusual when passing by it to get to Six Flaggs Amusement Park. Oh I loved Six Flaggs.. Good times. Hate the traffic in Dallas though.

I did this sort of strange road picture, and left it up doing other stuff, my daughter sees it and says... "What, no road kill?" So.... now it is really beautiful. lol

Cindy, the word master belongs under your name. I've been away for a while and havn't had time to comment on each individual piece but I just wanted you to know how much I've been enjoying your art. Every piece is showcase worthy.
Knockoff (May 18, 2004)
Waow, awesome.
Reminds me of when I went out west. Awesome job, I love all the color.!
laurael (May 18, 2004)
Very colorful...the hills and sky are awesome and I love how you put the road marker there...the whole pic is perfectly beautiful.
debem (May 21, 2004)
This is incredible (as is all your work)...I can't take my eyes off it. The depth and rich colors are outstanding! The road kill is a great (and highly realistic) touch!

This is great Dan. Your ability to see color, nuances of color, hue, intensity, light and shading, has always amazed me. Wish I had half your talant. Congratulations on another fantastic job. Like DBA says, the animation was like watching a tutorial.
davincipoppalag (May 17, 2004)
That animation was fun to watch. I tried that applet and for me it's just too much to try to remember where everything is all the time..I need all the tools in front of me, and I still forget . You could probably draw a great picture using nothing but a twig and some mud. This is great
Knockoff (May 18, 2004)
Waow, very nice! Agress with davin.
Yeah, It looks good. *pokes its eyes*

Thanks so much for the suggestion! I might try it a little later if I can muster up enough guts. At this stage, I really don't feel qualified to be doing anything on the intermediate board. For now, though, I must try to get some other things done around here. cripes...this stuff is addictive!
davincipoppalag (May 10, 2004)
Lol this is coming along nicely Dejas. Good colors. It really IS addictive isnt it!
emmamommalag (Sep 15, 2004)
Yep, I like the colors in this one.
