A brighter and simpler version of my vector Staci portrait. Good practice. :D

Really cool pic.
And it seems you're the perfect person to ask my dumb-butt question, what is vector art?
* runs away and hides in a closet for asking such a stupid thing, but I really don't know *

Wouldn't it be cool if I could put my Illustrator lineart into Lascaux Sketch? It would appear that I can.

Looks kinda like a demonic version of one of my little brother's pit bulls - his name was "Felony". I like it when you do blue, and this is smooth.
Pseudonymous (Mar 13, 2007)
lol...Felony...

If the old saying,"you are what you eat" is true than this puppy has not been eating his kibbles and bits. (he's eating people) Great pic.

Awesome! I like the shading.
Klibese (Mar 11, 2007)
I can't stand "Extreme dancers" myself. Worst use of space, ever, when one could be moshing instead.

Dr.Snoopy gave me some advice for painting digitally, such as using music for inspiration and other helpful hints, and also asked for a "sexy" picture; so here is one! The music for this one was "Who's Your Daddy" by Benny Benassi, so it's pretty easy to understand where I'm coming from once you've heard it.

CAM<<LOOK>>> There are..mammaries!! ..THis is interesting looking!!! Cool
Altard (Mar 9, 2007)
Yeah, I wanna get real good at drawing the human form; ALL of the human form. I started with faces, as you can see by previous posts. Now I'm working my way down to the rest. I wanna be an elite bastard!!
cmb (Mar 9, 2007)
good attempt at foreshortening, the shoulders look a little narrow, did you use a reference picture? If not- would the feet be visible?
Dr.Snoopy (edited Mar 9, 2007)
I did not request you to do that ... I gave you an example for how you can gain motivation :D
Anyways good drawing.

More hints: You need to work longer on an image if you want to draw realistic ;) This also helps you you to understand the difference better. I mean you will never know how to draw an eye perfect if you stop a full body painting after a few minutes.
Changing the focus is also very helpful. For example make a few drawings where you just focus on posing and movement...so you only draw the rough shapes of the body(maybe also the skeleton). This way you don't have to invest so much time into it, but you learn a lot. (post them in beginners)
Once in a while you should draw something where you combine all of those parts. (you can post these drawings in intermediate or advanced)

A little rough. I've never used Lascaux Sketch before, so I thought I should try it. It's actually a lot like Photoshop, but I'm still not as good with Lascaux as I am with the latter.
No references used, just my imagination.

I think it's quite good!... have you seen the Lascaux tutorial? http://cellosoft.com/2draw/wiki/index.php/Lascaux_Sketch
Altard (Mar 9, 2007)
Now that you mention it... DID YOU LIKE MUG A CLOWN TO GET THAT??

Umm. Anyway, no, I haven't. But I understand the general gist of it, like how to use layers and everything. I was just a little unsure of the tools, at first, but now I see it is a wonderful program for painting.

Well this did not really take me six hours....i just left the window open because i didn't know that i could save and finish later....oh well.
but anyways this is my very first drawing in PaintBBS and my very first drawing colored digitally...yay!

-I KNOW that the face is really round and a bit wide, and a few things are off...but i kinda like it still considering the fact that it's my first Oekaki
-I ALSO KNOW that the little bow this is really crappy XD i just put it there to add a little something

right-o then,I hope you enjoy.

I've seen lots of much much worse first pics.. this aint bad at all.. keep practiciing... use the other applets. Paint is kinda flukey.. try the Shi painter or Lascaux
Altard (Mar 9, 2007)
Actually I like this. It's a good charicature style for a 'real' woman. I especially like the style of the eyes, they make the subject look as if she's thinking hard.

But the markings are of my own bearded dragon, Biggie.

I wanted to draw a portrait of him. :)

My friend once made up a story, it was about a forest god and a girl he took care of. It was so beautiful I made some illustrations for it. Here is one I made... well, just now. I am something of an insomniac, as some of you may learn. I may churn out one or two or three drawings a sleepless night. Good night!

you did a good job. very pretty. reminds me of princess monoke though. X3..
Klibese (Mar 8, 2007)
And here my friend was thinking of Pocahontas... different strokes, I suppose.

What was I thinking? That you should get your friend's permission to post an excerpt from the story, perhaps. One of my favorite artists happens to be Markus Pierson (I've actually met him)... take a look.
Altard (Mar 8, 2007)
Oh, believe me, I have permission. Thanks for the thoughts!
